The Arizona State University football team will host a free Sun Devil Football Youth Experience Clinic on Saturday, March 31st at Sun Devil Stadium at 11:30 a.m. The free youth clinic will be open to both boys and girls ages 8-13 who are not enrolled in 9th grade or above. The clinic is free of charge and open to the first 500 youth to register. The clinic will feature members of the Sun Devil coaching staff and current players on the roster and will focus on several drills and fundamentals including: form tackling, ball skills, running and blocking. Sun Devil Basketball takes on the UCLA Bruins on Thursday, February 23rd at 6:30 p.m. and then hosts the USC Trojans on Saturday February 25th at 6 p.m. Thursday’s game is a Black Out as the Sun Devils will be wearing their black jerseys so be there, be loud and wear black!
Alex Earl and Janae Fulcher each scored 11 points as the Sun Devil Women’s Basketball staved off a furious Washington State rally in the closing minutes to defeat the Cougars, 47-42. Earl, who came into Saturday’s game shooting 50 percent from the floor in ASU’s last seven games, was one of five Sun Devil seniors – Kali Bennett, Kimberly Brandon, Olivia Major and Haley Parsons- who were honored following Saturday’s win. The Sun Devils will be on the road for their final three regular season games, starting next week when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the UCLA Bruins on Thursday at 8 p.m. and the USC Trojans on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The 15th-ranked Sun Devil Baseball team completed its opening-series sweep of Western Michigan on Sunday, defeating the Broncos 17-2 at Packard Stadium. The Sun Devils outscored WMU 40-2 in 27 innings over the weekend. The Sun Devils begin a three-game series against UC Riverside on Friday, February 24th at Packard Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. with Fox Sports Arizona providing a webcast of the game.
In the final game of the Littlewood Classic, the Sun Devil offense broke out to help Sun Devil Softball to a 14-3 routing of Illinois State in five innings Sunday afternoon. The Sun Devils are now 10-2 overall after finishing the weekend 5-0 in the Littlewood Classic. This week the Sun Devils host a four-game series against Central Connecticut February 24th through February 26th.A familiar face will be in the dugout for the BLue Devils as former Sun Devil Softball standout Katie Burkhart is an Assistnat Coach. Both teams will be celebrating a pink-out night during the doubleheader on February 25th and will wear pink jerseys as part of the Strike Out Cancer dedication helping people affected by cancer. The pink game worn jersey will be raffled off after the game and everyone wearing pink will receive $3 general admission. Be there, be loud and wear pink!
Congratulations to Sun Devil Softball pitcher Hillary Bach who has been named the Pac-12 Softball Pitcher of the Week for February 13th through February 19th! On the year, Bach is 5-0 with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 32.1 innings worked and 28 strikeouts. Each of her wins has come via a shutout while holding opponents to a .157 batting average.
