So this is actually pretty cool. I read on ASU’s website today that the school just released an iPhone application for students and faculty. You can check out the full features of the ASU app on iTunes. This thing is pretty sick. You can do campus tours, login to your blackboard, check out parking information, view maps and integrate with gps and tons more but I’ll just let you play around with it to find out all the goodies.
I think the best thing about the app is that you can view all of your personal info. Walking to and from class you don’t have to bust open your laptop to log on to blackboard or visit the computer commons to find out where your next class is. You just pop open the app and there you go. You have all your class information, news, teacher announcements and even textbook information. Pretty sweet if you ask me. However, I do fear that this will heighten the risk of skateboard and bike collisions as pedestrian’s eyes will likely be glued to their screens all along the walk ways. Good thing we have the “Walk Your Wheels” campaign to cover our backs (sarcasm intended).
