The word is out on Rihards Kuksik’s decision on where he will play ball this year. There was much speculation regarding his ultimate choice this year as he spent the summer playing for his native Latvian team and entertained thoughts of playing professionally in Europe. However, to the relief of head coach Herb Sendek and thousands of ASU basketball fans, Rihards has decided to play out his senior season here for the Devil’s.
Kuksiks was ASU’s leading scorer last season averaging 12.1 points per game and he shot almost 40% from 3-point land. He played an intricate role for our team and contributed much to the success that the Devils had throughout the Pac-10 season and the NCAA tournament.
ASU will have 3 returning starters from last years team now with Kuksiks’ return to the floor. His lights out 3-point shooting and his senior presence will definitely help the Sundevils as they seek to achieve another successful season atop the Pac-10 standings.
