The ASU Sundevils women’s soccer team has experienced some great success in recent years. Last year, the team made it to the NCAA tournament only to fall to Wisconsin in the first round. This was a great improvement from 2007 and 2008 where the team performed well be were unable to make the tournament.
This year, there is much more expectation for the club. The ASU women’s soccer team is currently 2-0 on the season as they just finished off a 3-1 win against a tough Baylor club this past Sunday. The team is well seasoned as they have dealt with extremely tough schedules in previous years. This year they will also face extremely tough teams including 11 that made that NCAA tournament last year.
This Friday, the players will continue their season in North Carolina to face a Charlotte team that went 10-2 last season. They will be a tough opponent. However, the Sundevils hold the edge on the 49ers by beating them in their only ever meeting last season 1-0 in Tempe.
