Hey all. Here’s a little “Sparky’s Insight” for you to further your anticipation for the first game of the season.

Sparky’s Insights

The Sun Devils offense continued to show improvement during the final scrimmage Saturday. Seventeen players caught passes in Saturday’s scrimmage for 241 yards. The Sun Devils have a lot of depth at the WR position which will help the offense grow under new Offensive Coordinator Noel Mazzone. The offensive line played cohesively as a unit and paved the way for 97 yards rushing. The Sun Devil’s will take the positive momentum from the final scrimmage through the final week of fall practice before entering their first game week.

The Countdown to Kickoff is on with just 11 days before the fireworks light up the night and your Sun Devils take Frank Kush Field to face Portland State. Can’t wait until September 4th? Get pumped for the season with a full day of Sun Devil Football excitement this Friday, August 27th.

Here’s the line-up for Friday…
11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena – Sun Devil Football Kickoff Luncheon and Pep Rally. Get excited for the season and join Coach Erickson, ASU Vice President for University Athletics Lisa Love, Sun Devil Football players, Sparky, the Spirit Squad and special guests, including Governor Jan Brewer, United States Congressman Harry Mitchell and United States Senator John McCain.

Reserved Seating - Includes reserved seating at a table on the floor, lunch and giveaway items.

* $600/table of 10
* $700/table of 9 plus a Coach or Player

General Admission - Includes seating in the stands and the ability to purchase food and beverage at the concession stands.

7 p.m. in Sun Devil Stadium – Sun Devil Football Mock Game and Fan Appreciation event. After the Mock Game fans will be invited onto Frank Kush Field and the 2010 Sun Devil Football team will be available for 30 minutes for autographs and photos. Admission and Parking are FREE!
